The Challenge
The project began with a beautifully designed app created for a social media influencer with a growing conversation starter community. However, development had stalled because the app lacked a backend infrastructure. Without a backend, key functionalities like content updates, user management, and payments couldn’t be handled, limiting the app’s potential and blocking its launch.
How we Helped
Our team lead stepped in to build a robust backend from scratch, tailored to the app’s unique needs. We developed a custom content management system (CMS) that allowed non-technical users to update and customize app content remotely—empowering the influencer’s team to manage the app without relying on developers. We integrated this backend seamlessly with the existing SwiftUI frontend, enabling smooth communication between the app and the server. - To support monetization, we implemented payment processing and subscription management, ensuring secure, reliable transactions. Alongside these core systems, we enhanced the app’s UI with thoughtful improvements to polish the user experience. This comprehensive work enabled a successful launch on the App Store, and the results speak for themselves: the app has maintained a rock-solid baseline with zero reported crashes during its first 300+ days live, and has reached over 50,000 downloads.
